Chevalier de Palmes Academiques of the French Government. Expert of the European Commission, responsible for the re-organization of the Statistical Institutes in the Western Balkan countries (Montenegro, Serbia, BiH) in the framework of PHARE and CARDS programs (1998-2003). Member of numerous Monitoring and Observation missions for census operations in East European countries (Albania, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Moldova, Uzbekistan). Scientific responsible for the implementation of several research programs financed by national, foreign and international institutions. Author, co-author and editor of books about demographic /population developments in Greece and the Balkans. Author of several papers in collective volumes examining issues of demographic policy, population projections, migration, mortality, family/fertility (as well as the spatial dimensions of demographic phenomena) in Greece / Balkans.
